Neurodivergence (Autism, ADD, ADHD)
I have spent the past 15 years developing specific expertise in working with nuerodivergent individuals, primarily those on the autism spectrum, and those with ADD and ADHD. I am certified in the assessment and diagnosis of ASD, and am certified as a social skills instructor through UCLA's Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS), and I live with ADD myself.
I practice from a neurodivergent framework. This means that I believe there is a range of differences in how brains function, and that these differences should not be pathologized, as they are not things that need to be "fixed". Instead, I work with my clients to understand the unique ways that their brains function, to accept and value their differences, and ultimately to develop a framework of approaches, systems, and routines that support them in creating the lives that they want.
I also work with couples where one or both partners is on the spectrum. My extensive experience with this population means that I'm uniquely able to develop provide insight, strategies, and guidance in navigating neurodiversity in the context of relationships.
