Therapy for Women
As women, we deal with a lot. Managing our relationships, goals, life transitions, role transitions, body image issues, workplace pressures...the list is endless!
Much of my practice is devoted to working with women in their 20s and 30s around these challenges. We often arrive into early adulthood thinking that we have it figured out and that our education, relationships, and work up until this point have prepared us for the next phase; only that next phase doesn't arrive the way we were thinking (or hoping) it would! Dealing with the disappointments and curve-balls that come our way can be jarring. You might feel that you don't have anymore time to waste, and watching your friends land promotions, get married, or have babies makes it seem as though you're the only one still at the starting line.
You're not. We all move through adulthood at our own pace and there is no "right way" to do it. Together, we will work to determine what is right for you, and we'll develop a road-map for getting you there. I work with many Type A women---you know what you want and you like to be in control. I've been there, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to be the one behind the wheel. It's your life! But really examining what control is-- and what it isn't-- can provide some clarity amid the chaos.
